Privacy Policy
Jigsaw Puzzle: Game for Family
Effective date: October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Jigsaw Puzzle: Game for Family app (the “App”) collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the App on iOS, iPadOS, Android and macOS, and to any other app of ours that links to this policy.
The App is developed by Mikhail Smirnov, an individual developer based in the Netherlands (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of your personal data. You can reach us at support@happyjigsaw.com.
- You don’t need to give us your name, email or phone number to play. The App signs you in with an anonymous ID.
- We store your game progress, coins and purchases so the App works and you don’t lose them.
- We use Google Firebase for app infrastructure, analytics and crash reports, RevenueCat for purchases, and on iOS and Android Google AdMob for ads.
- Photos you turn into puzzles stay on your device. We do not upload them.
- Ads may be personalized only where the law allows and, where required, only with your consent. You can change this at any time.
- We do not sell your personal data for money.
- To delete your data, email us. Details are in section 9.
1. Information we collect
Information created when you use the App
- App account identifier. When you first open the App, Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous user ID for you. It is not linked to your name or email.
- Game data. Puzzles played and completed, completion times, daily streaks, achievements, coin balance, collections you have unlocked, and similar settings. If you share a puzzle challenge with a friend, the link stores the puzzle, its settings and your completion time.
- Game Center / Google Play Games. If you choose to connect these services, we receive your player identifier so we can sync achievements. We do not receive your contacts or friends list.
- Purchases. Which subscriptions, collections and coin packs you bought, when, and whether they are active. Payments are processed by Apple or Google. We never see your card or bank details.
- Feedback you send. If you rate the App or answer a feedback question inside it, we receive your answer, any text you type, the App version and your platform. Please don’t include personal information in free-text feedback.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information. Device model, operating system and version, language, time zone, App version, and identifiers for the App installation (such as the Firebase installation ID).
- Usage information. Which screens and features you use, puzzles you start and finish, and interactions with ads and purchase screens.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports, error logs and performance measurements such as start-up time and frame rendering.
- Advertising identifiers. On Android, the Google Advertising ID. On iOS, the IDFA, only if you allow tracking in the system prompt. The App does not use advertising identifiers on macOS.
- Push notification token. A token that lets us send you notifications, plus your language and time zone so notifications arrive at a sensible time and in the right language.
- Approximate location. Our service providers may infer your country or region from your IP address. The App does not request or use your precise (GPS) location.
- App integrity checks. Firebase App Check uses Apple App Attest / DeviceCheck or Google Play Integrity to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the App.
We do not collect sensitive information such as health data, biometric data, precise location, contacts, or your messages.
2. Your photos
The App can turn a photo into a puzzle. When you choose this, the App asks for access to your photo library or camera. The photo is processed on your device only. It is not uploaded to our servers or shared with anyone. You can revoke photo or camera access at any time in your device settings.
3. How and why we use information
| Purpose | Information used | Legal basis (EEA/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Run the game, save and sync your progress, coins and unlocked content | App account ID, game data, device information | Performance of our contract with you |
| Process purchases and subscriptions and restore them on your devices | Purchases, App account ID, device identifiers | Performance of contract |
| Send notifications such as daily puzzle reminders | Push token, language, time zone | Consent (you can turn notifications off in device settings) |
| Fix crashes, measure performance and keep the App secure | Diagnostics, device information, App Check results | Legitimate interests (a stable and secure App) |
| Understand how the App is used and improve it, including testing different versions of features | Usage information, device information | Legitimate interests (improving the App) |
| Show ads (iOS and Android) | Advertising identifier, device information, approximate location, ad interactions | Consent for personalized ads, legitimate interests for non-personalized ads |
| Answer your feedback and support requests | Feedback, your messages, email address | Legitimate interests |
| Comply with law and protect our rights | Any of the above, as needed | Legal obligation, legitimate interests |
We do not use automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Advertising and your choices
On iOS and Android, the free version of the App shows ads served by Google AdMob. You can remove ads with an in-app purchase. The macOS version does not show ads.
- Consent. In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and other regions where it is required, the App shows Google’s consent form before ads are personalized. You can change your choice later from the App’s settings.
- iOS tracking. iOS asks whether you allow the App to track you. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the IDFA is not shared. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Android. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings › Google › Ads (Settings › Privacy › Ads on some devices).
- If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
Google uses information as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers below, and only so they can provide their services to us:
| Provider | What for | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC — Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging, App Check) | App infrastructure, data storage, analytics, crash reports, notifications, security | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google LLC — AdMob (iOS and Android only) | Advertising | policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Managing purchases and subscriptions | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Apple Inc. and Google LLC (App Store, Google Play, Game Center, Google Play Games) | Payments, app distribution, achievements | apple.com/legal/privacy, policies.google.com/privacy |
We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the App, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
We do not sell your personal data for money. Some US state laws treat sharing data for personalized advertising as a “sale” or “sharing”. See section 11 for how to opt out.
6. International transfers
Our service providers process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. Our backend functions run in the EU (Belgium), and our providers may store data in the US. Where data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred to countries without an adequacy decision, our providers use safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
7. How long we keep information
- Game data. As long as you use the App. If you don’t open the App for 2 years, your account and game data are deleted automatically, unless you still have an active subscription.
- Purchase records. Deleted together with your game data. We keep only an anonymous record that a store transaction was already processed, so it cannot be credited twice.
- Analytics data. Kept by Firebase Analytics for up to 14 months.
- Crash reports. Kept by Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
- Feedback and emails. Up to 3 years, or less if you ask us to delete them.
After these periods, data is deleted or anonymized.
8. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with providers that use industry-standard protections. Access to the backend is restricted, and App Check helps block requests from tampered copies of the App. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
9. Deleting your data
Uninstalling the App does not delete data stored on our servers. To have it deleted, email support@happyjigsaw.com with the subject “Delete my data”. To help us find your data, include the platform you use and, if possible, your user ID shown in the App’s settings.
We will delete your game data, coin balance, achievements and feedback within 30 days and confirm by email. Please note:
- Deletion is permanent. Your progress, coins and unlocked collections cannot be restored afterwards.
- Active subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. Cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account settings, as deleting your data does not cancel billing.
- Records we must keep by law, such as purchase receipts, may be retained for the required period.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate data;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- opt out of personalized advertising.
To exercise these rights, email support@happyjigsaw.com. We will respond within 30 days, or within the period required by your local law. We may need to verify that the request comes from you, for example by asking for your in-app user ID. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to a data protection authority. Our lead supervisory authority is the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, but you can also contact the authority in your own country. A list of EU authorities is available here. In the UK, you can complain to the ICO.
11. Additional information for US residents
Residents of California and other US states with consumer privacy laws have the rights described in section 10: to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. You may use an authorized agent. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our answer, and we will respond within the time required by law.
In the past 12 months we collected the following categories of personal information:
| Category | Examples | Disclosed to |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Anonymous user ID, installation ID, advertising ID, push token, IP address | Service providers; advertising partner (Google AdMob) |
| Commercial information | Purchases and subscription status | Service providers (RevenueCat, Apple, Google) |
| Internet or other electronic network activity | App usage, interactions with ads, diagnostics | Service providers; advertising partner |
| Approximate geolocation | Country or region inferred from IP address | Service providers; advertising partner |
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by these laws. Identifiers, network activity and approximate location may be “shared” with Google for personalized advertising. To opt out, use the in-app privacy settings or your device’s advertising settings (see section 4), or email us. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.
12. Children
The App is a family game suitable for all ages, but it is not directed primarily at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for personalized advertising. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the App or on the store listing.
